    Am I the only one that things the palms is a bad choice for Internext

    ive spent alot of time at the palms... and I mean alot..... and I think that you will all agree with me once this show is over.... the palms is TINY. and not the venue that we need. I think avn dropped the ball on this.. IMO.. best show was the year they included both avn and internext at the same time right next door to each other.... made it very easy to do business with everyone....


    I was just sitting here thinking this and I think you will all agree with me once the show is over

      I thought it was an odd choice too at first. After giving it some thought.... It really doesn't matter the size of the hotel or where it is on the strip. And the hotel seems nice and more suited for the adult industry.

          That's gonna suck ass.

          Now, the Palms is a great party casino. I went to a movie premier sponsored by Party Poker at the Ghost Bar, cool bar, but this Hotel as a venue is very limited.

          I'm sure someone will book the Playboy suite for a party, that would be nice, but once again, this venue is very limited.

              The Palms is not on the strip.

              It is also in a part of town that I wouldn't suggest you walk down the streets to and from the Rio, where I'm assuming a lot of webmasters will end up staying...either that or the Gold Coast...a total dump...LOL

                              excatly.... why the palms.... like I said I know everyone at the palms very well.. I love that casino/hotel they have beds that make the westin beds look like rocks.. but for an adult convention shitty... I just think it's a horriable choice for internext very bad.... the biggest "ballroom/convention hall" they have is no bigger than the grandlux cafe.... is this a sign that were getting smaller?

                              avn... not using your heads on this one..

                              1 bad idea to switch avn and internext not to co inside with eachother and even worse to put internext at the palms.... id rather see motel6 than the palms...

                                          as you walk in from west parking you got the key west room on the left next to poker.. then next to the cage there is a hallway that leads you to a few more rooms.... thats where we auditioned for deal or no deal.....


                                          what a silly audition that was...


                                          they bring you in to a room.. stand 10 of you around the table... then the lady that works for the show says some speal then she goes ok the audtion is take over my place and get to know everyone.... so then your like a moderator.. strange... I did not make it... hahahah

                                                          it is not so much the distance. If you're cabbing it in Vegas, you would have to do so from the Venetian, just as much as you would from The Palms.

                                                          But you will soon see...the Palms is quite small. There are some decent eateries, but not many to choose from.

                                                          There is the Rio down the street. But once again, I would not suggest you walk to and from there at night, you're just asking for trouble.

                                                              the only reason to hold an event at the palms is because of the insane party atmosphere, right?

                                                                  oh good grief. Honestly, i was a teeny tiny bit disapointed when they announced it but i GOT OVER IT! The gold coast isn't a dump, I've gambled there & gone to concerts there... it's just a middle class older gambling crowd... The Rio has a killer seafood buffet and the Palms has some really good restaurants & nice clubs. I'm still gonna go and enjoy seeing everyone there & partying REGARDLESS of where it is....

                                                                              I haven't been to Internext in awhile, the last one I went to the parties had actually gotten worse.

                                                                              The floor of the show was pretty barren too.

                                                                              I may go to this one just to see what the fuck is going on in this industry.

                                                                                  btw... only thing good to eat in the palms is nine steakhouse owned by the mortons who own the hardrock.... alize is very nice as well if you like french food.... it won't be the worst thing to happen I mean it's better than having it at the hooters hotel but ive done alot of time in the palms and walked all over the property through all back hallways.... I just never thought of the convention there hahah... they have pimp and ho there every year and it's funny to see the security gaurds standing atthe doors with duct tape to put over chicks nipples as they walk in....

                                                                                  just got off the phone with my host at the palms I got some rooms held right now just in case I need a quick place to fuck a broad hahahaha

                                                                                      I have already stated that a smart program or group of programs would go get a room rate at another "strip" hotel and then offer a sponsored 24 hour per day shuttle bus between the palm and that hotel. So if someone gets a great group rate at, say, Wynn, then they could run a shuttle from Wynn to the Palms (say every 30 minutes or something) and that would be that. All the benefits of being at the show hotel, and all the benefits of staying at a strip hotel.

                                                                                              The little buddha restaurant is also really good too for asian fusion food.
                                                                                              I wish it was back at the Venetian too, great hotel, good location & lots to do around there... but this year it's not... so we'll just go earlier & do all the Vegas stuff beforehand. At least the Palms has a poker room, unlike the hard rock.

                                                                                              I was guessing it'd be at the Ceasars before it was announced, wishful thinking... lol

                                                                                                  it'sa nice joint it really is.... I think the Red Rock is much better than the palms butthe palms tries... red rock is way to far from the strip... which may not be a bad idea...


                                                                                                  man I remember my first show here in vegas when I got into the industry... walked in the showroom.. bam silvercash had like 2k sqft of space.... banners everywhere... look how it's fallen in the past few years.... we went from a convention hall where it needs to be to a rinky dink party hotel..... thats why GOV hates us... we party rather than run business

                                                                                                                  oh man, our first show was fucking insane, same experience as you......you walk in and WOW HUGE booths everywhere...JoeE was throwing $1k chips at people, full bars with free drinks everywhere on the show floor

                                                                                                                  shit, one show had evan and his halfpipe in the middle of the show floor with skaters riding it all the time, it was crazy

                                                                                                                                              First negative feedback we've recieved, but D I do appreciate your perspective.

                                                                                                                                              We listened to our clients, and came up with the best possible option for this years show. The PALM's solves many of the problems that are inherent with a vegas show. Everyone will be in one place which will make connecting very easy. Its a smaller venue, which will be conducive to business. We have 2 floors of Suites and all of RAIN to do the show. Being off strip will also be a good thing in this regard.

                                                                                                                                              People keep comparing Internext to the Internext of 6 years ago, guys we will never have shows like that anymore. It is not possible.

                                                                                                                                              Save your judgement until after the show - this will be a home run. Guess we cant make everyone happy all the time, seems that we can make all the same people unhappy all of the time though.
