    raq: Blackwater guards fired unprovoked

By ROBERT H. REID, Associated Press Writer Sat Sep 22, 7:55 PM ET

BAGHDAD - Iraqi investigators have a videotape that shows Blackwater USA guards opened fire against civilians without provocation in a shooting last week that left 11 people dead, a senior Iraqi official said Saturday. He said the case was referred to the Iraqi judiciary.

They are also now being investigated on selling arms illegally in Iraq. Arms that wound up in the hands of insurgents.
In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.

On #1, the firing on civilians may be true. War crimes occur in all wars. Does this mean the US mission is not valid? No. Does this mean Iraq should be handed over to Al Qaeda? No. Does this mean that we should abandon 30 million people? No again. Investigate further, and prosecute any criminal wrongdoing.

On #2, that is false, based on the reports I have read. Blackwater, the corporation, wasn't involved in the smuggling. I think the two rogue employees are being prosecuted for the smuggling.

Those companies are making a SHITLOAD of cash over there. A normal guard makes an average of 10K monthly for protecting VIP's.
