#1 - You don't have to be white listed to get in the inbox. You say it's not easy to get white listed with alot of the ips?? I'd love to know which IP block this is so I could stay clear, never heard of such a thing.
#2 - Re: Content.... ISP's CAN and DO block emails based on URL's in the content, meaning the domain you have for links in your mail can effect your deliverability - This is not hard to change.
#2b - Re: Content.... If epic uses the term "epic" in all of their mailings, it's very possible that they will flag emails that have epic in them, hence if they stop using epic, that as well can have an effect on deliverability.
