    Acacia Strikes Again

this time, they want to monopolize credit card fraud protection for retailers (how long until they go after online payment processors?)

    >>>>>>>
Acacia Technologies Licenses Credit Card Fraud Protection Technology to Charlotte Russe

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 2006--Acacia Research Corporation (Nasdaq:ACTG) (Nasdaq:CBMX) announced today that Financial Systems Innovation LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Acacia Technologies group, a leader in technology licensing, has entered into non-exclusive licenses covering a patent that applies to credit card fraud protection technology with Charlotte Russe Holding, Inc., which operates 408 retail stores.

The patented technology generally relates to a computerized system for protecting retailers and consumers engaged in credit card, check card, and debit transactions. The system includes an electronic card reader, and the generation and use of a transaction number, which specifically identifies each transaction processed within the system. As a result, the retailer does not necessarily have to print detailed information concerning the cardholder's identity or account number on the customer's receipt.

The Acacia Technologies group develops, acquires, and licenses patented technologies. Acacia controls 38 patent portfolios, which include over 140 U.S. patents, and certain foreign counterparts, covering technologies used in a wide variety of industries including audio/video enhancement & synchronization, broadcast data retrieval, computer memory cache coherency, credit card fraud protection, database management, data encryption & product activation, digital media transmission (DMT(R)), digital video production, dynamic manufacturing modeling, enhanced Internet navigation, hearing aid ECS, image resolution enhancement, interactive data sharing, interactive television, laptop docking station connectivity, microprocessor enhancement, multi-dimensional bar codes, network data storage, resource scheduling, rotational video imaging, spreadsheet automation, user activated Internet advertising and web conferencing & collaboration software.

this patent is being challenged with a re-exam request...

acacia has history of just not understanding prior art and what the patent actually says, over what they wish it would say.

    Fight the Patent!

Something like that would get the governments attention and instigate the Patent offices to reform.

              Ask George Bush.
Sometimes Violence is the only answer.
We live in a world where conservative religeous leader's publicly speak about taking country leaders out Pat Roberts and Cuba statements.

I heard a TV ad about joining the army and shit where it has recruits saying shit like "I am trained to engage the enemy in close quarters combat".

American civilians are typically passive, we are made as civilians to to put up with economic terrorism sanctioned by our own government.

Sometimes there is no answer and so far acts of violence bring forward important issues that concern the people and the economy we have to work within.

It's fucken sad that the Patent Office allows such archaic diatribes of intellectual properties in todays modern era.

Acacia is nothing compared to the other Lawyer firms doing more damage by far.
