Do you have to zoom-out your video to make it fit on a tv screen properly or is there another trick so it doesn't cut off so much around the edges?

safe margins in Premiere are meant for Titles, so that the text doesn't get cut off regardless of the TV or Monitor. -
I must be missing something - when playing a straight-from tape avi file in premiere, firewired through a camera to a standard tv, it cuts off 5 or so percent on all 4 sides. If I zoom out through the effect controls, I can make the video fit with-in the tv screen with no crop...

Are you talking about broadcast standards for T.V. commercials, or just for your own stuff?Originally posted by ProjectNakedDo you have to zoom-out your video to make it fit on a tv screen properly or is there another trick so it doesn't cut off so much around the edges?

try looking at it on a different TV, every TV has a different cut off zone.
If you zoom out on your video, on your TV it might seem fine, but on another TV you'll see a HUGE black border around your video.skype: lordofthecameltoeComment

- seems like it's a no win, hence the term "safe margins" - I just hate losing so much of the size, almost makes some scences too "zoomed in."
