                          He is right in a way. Everyday there is a new rumor about Google buying someone or creating something. None of them have ever come out. Not to mention that nothing they have put out outside of search is any good.

                                      They are not as innovative as people think outside of their SE. For virtually everything else they've done, there is another example of it out there that is equal to it or (usually) better.

                                      I find that to be very disturbing because it means the only thing keeping them at the top is the SE portion of their company. Should someone else come along with a better SE, Google suddenly isn't going to be perceived as the future of computing.

                                          yes they were not the first to start with 1gig (now already more) free email adresses

                                          and yes there is something MUCH better than adsense

                                          and once again that google analytics thing that is just about on every BIG site is also no good

                                                      Right now Google is a giant and everyone is standing around waiting for it to fall. The Google empire will fall one day. Its only a matter of time. But for now, friggin' take advantage of what its doing!

                                                                  YARGH! Google didn't "put out" analytics. They bought it. It was urchin. Just like maps, picassa, etc. Aside from adsense google really hasn't done anything original.

                                                                                                              Everyone I know now uses google maps instead of mapquest or yahoo, it is FAR superior

                                                                                                              google earth is a fun toy to play with, i don't see much use for it outside of that

                                                                                                              google toolbar I still use, so do tons of people

                                                                                                              google videos, i think it is pretty cool, but I see some lawsuits coming from it soon

                                                                                                                  Email storage limits can not be considered innovative or special. If Google is special for offering 1gig, then why doesn't someone else offer 10gigs? 1gig email was a PR stunt to make up for the fact their email was so featureless.

                                                                                                                  AdSense and the SE go together in my book.

                                                                                                                      Nothing Google has done has been a flop, but very little of it has been innovative or considered the best.

                                                                                                                      Google did not develop the maps or Google Earth. Someone else did and Google slapped their name on it.

                                                                                                                      Toolbars and popup blockers were nothing new.

                                                                                                                      Google Video came after many other free video hosting services, and their video is worse quality than all the others.
