Thats a sure sign of Bush style thinking however. It's Just dumb plan, Bush and his guys should have just said they wish to free Iraq and Afghanistan calling out human rights abuses...
The torture and barbarism in those countries including Syia, and Iran is beyond a perversion of human waste, and it was not America that triggered the idiocy spewing forth from that region. Them backwards uneducated fuckup's in the Middle East need to be removed from the gene pool no matter how you want to look at it.

That barbarism, torture, and degeneracy is still rampant, perhaps far more rampant since America invaded. Maybe you're right and those cultures can be changed using bombs and brute force, but I doubt it, unless those bombs wipe out everybody, or we maintain supremacy there over the course of centuries. Those countries are theocratic to the bone and ethnic divisions have existed there for thousands of years. They haven't known peace for millenia. Right now US forces are making deals with some of those groups to fight common enemies but what lurks just underneath is a seething hatred for American presence.

Any "victories" or "progress" we've made thus far have been quantitative, not qualitative, and merely temporal.
