4 Xeon servers with a load ballancer and tested it with a small amount of traffic roughly 150,000 page views per day and they couldn't handle it, with the site being down or running at a snails pace at least 60% of the time, most days not even serving 40,000 page views.

Beware of Ubiquity as they are a terrible company, after 3 months of complaining they finally said "we should move you to Xeons" which is strangely what we'd paid for in the first place. We'd had 1 Xeon Server on Ev1 (now theplanet) that handled that small site very well, but Ev1 went down hill when it became theplanet, unless you were a big client like imagebeaver etc. they didn't seem to care about you.

It's time to move, this is what I am looking for at present: suggestions for a decent host, the site does roughly 500,000 page views per day and about 3.5TB/month in bandwidth. with 180 data base calls per second.

hope someone can help.

Hi Garv,

I'm hosting out of The Netherlands with a company called Munt Internet - have been with them since 2003 and can't fault the service they provide. I'm set up on a cluster as are a few people you'll recognize like Terry, Richard (RichardsRealm) and Ray (Watcherweb).

You know how to get in touch with me if you need to know any thing.

Cheers
