Your experience certainly differs from mine.
My experience was the same until I took a look at the quality of traffic he was sending us, inquired about his progress on other deals that we had agreed to, and (lacking satisfaction on both counts) asked him how he felt about making good on a promise that he had offered to clinch our original deal...
and was then summarily refused.
I've been in this business only a few years - far less than a lot of the people in this board, but I'm no stranger to business management - nor am I an idiot, and I've, thankfully, been fortunate to never have cause to call someone a liar or a thief in my own dealings until I did business with TheButcher.
I'd encourage you (as well as anyone doing business with this him) to look upon the situation with a more scrutinizing eye as you're able.
