O.J. was attempting to 'steal' property that he felt he owned.... hence my remark about the gun... if he didn't have one, I'd imagine a good lawyer could work with that... sure, there'll be repercussions for whatever convicted charge - but it's the "gun" issue that tacks on so many years to the offense.
But, as you so ineloquently pointed out: what the hell do I know?
