Vista requires so much more juice to run that celeron's are giving every laptop maker a bad rep. Word processing is annoying on them.. lagged text readout up to a few sentences long in some case. So imagine how difficult image resizing and other webmaster duties would be.
He would NEED a dual core. Even a single core athlon is not enough. albeit no text input lag but still a slow ass machine.
Futureshop has many cool deals on laptops now. Go Check out the 17 inch acer with dual core athlons. 699. cant complain. Or if you want a little more quality check out the 749 17" HP. Dual core athlon as well. Drop a two year service contract on it and you'll be game to go under $1000

Yeah, I was wondering how Vista would run on a Celeron. If I did opt for a Celeron, I'd look for an older model with XP on it.
The 17" models are nice, but too big. Even the 15.4" models are too big. I don't need a desktop replacement, just something I can use in front of the TV or at a café.
