You know, we were having a serious discussion about this... Cake is really just what, sweetened bread? Who goes around eating big pieces of bread for fun? Smear enough sugar icing on top and it's still just bread and sugar. I think people only even buy cakes for events and special occasions because society tells them they should... we're basically taking about a Hallmark dessert here.
