    Man builds guillotine and then chops his head off

    Michigan: A 41-year-old Detroit man has committed suicide by decapitating himself with a guillotine he built. His body was found by people who worked at a nearby shopping centre.

    Police found receipts for materials used by the man in the construction of the machine. The 6-foot-high guillotine, complete with a swing arm, was bolted to a tree in a wooded area.

    "I can't even tell you how long it must have taken him to construct. This man obviously was very determined to end his life," said Allen Park Deputy Police Chief Dale Covert.
