"After the cancellation of Married... with Children, Ed managed to get rid of the Al Bundy stigma. He had notable parts in the movies "The Bone Collector" with Denzel Washington and "Lucky Numbers" with John Travolta and Lisa Kudrow. In spring of 2001 he even played Detective Mike Mooney on the CBS series "Big Apple", but running against E.R. the show was cancelled after just five episodes. From February to November 2003, he tried to succeed another time as the lead in a cop show: on ABC's remake of "Dragnet". But the show was cancelled during early season two.
