GET A BINDING CONTRACT!! Note that a lot of "National Brand Name Movers" are actually subcontracted out. If you don't have a lot of stuff and you're not on a set time limit, many times you can piggy back on a larger load. I did that back in the 70's when I was just moving 1 room from FL to GA.

I used to have a really website for moving stuff - I'll see if I can find it. It cost me $2K just to move my stuff 60 miles and that's with me packing everything.

Are you going to Chicago?
