Yeah... I've heard people say that, and not to rain on the parade, but it's not true - only a common myth... they're related, but not that closely.

They're actually not in the same Family.... but they are in the same Phylum.... they're both Arthropods... which is one step away from saying they're both "Animals." From there, their scientific classification deviates to Crustacea and Insecta (both Subphylums).... "Family" is much further down on the scientific classification list.... right before Genus and Species....

To put it in perspective: Humans are of Phylum Chordata, so comparing Lobster and any insect is the same as comparing a Human and any fish or any frog - or any other non-mammalian vertebrate.
