That seems to be the average for beach hotels here - tho there are a few more catering to tourists desperate to offload their money
Got some deal with Barcelo here where it only costs.. think $27/day (used to be $25). If you used one of their resort hotels, they are usually all inclusive, (booze, all meals - including a la carte) so the lot still costs the same price *lol* My daughter lived in a few for up to six months at a time - but that can be boring and an overkill - breakfast, pool, lunch, pool, dinner, pool, bar, casino blah...
Other countries - varies - can spend up to $500 night on occasions...
