im starting a board for real math is that against the rules to say that?

im exactly on your thinking, even if some people have these sales questions figured out, i dont know why there can never be threads that try and discover things in the good nature of learning or discourse.

even if people KNEW some of this I don't see whats wrong with going through it. seems like people really wanna keep the threads to interpersonal stuff
or try and hide their trade 'secrets'.

Personally I think everyone inflates there numbers alot

there are no trade secrets with numbers because we were working on averages.

We don't send our exit traffic to other sponsors as our consoles only have our own sites on them. Our affiliates get full credit for the sales and they can also choose to turn them on or off if they wish.

Very respectable in this day and age, BV!

I remember the days at CE when we were doing 5,000+ sales EVERY DAY without fail ... DAMN, that was 5 years ago!

Funny though, I know affiliates networks in mainstream that are doing that NOW!

I bet that helps the conversions as well either way those are great numbers. I send to alot of programs and not many do that well
that is almost exactly our numbers amazing and congrats and here I thought we were the best

IMHO, the mainstream affiliate world is where adult was in 1999/2000 but with WAY MORE OPPORTUNITIES!

Today, Adult content may be the most searched for on the web, but has MORE BANDWIDTH SUCKING FREELOADERS than buyers.

Plus, it has more savvy and educated buyers that know the game and just buy trials and cancel and move from site to site. The smart surfer that uses online porn to bust a nut KNOWS that he can take $1 or $2.95 trials CANCEL immediately, rub one out and comeback again a couple times per month going from site to site.

RINSE AND THEN REPEAT!

They know they don't have to get banged for $39.95 or even $24.95 recurring and can spend far less doing the aforementioned

Times have changed there's several hundred million more shoppers online today than were online in 1999/2000 ... and when they are looking for something in the mainstream - they're willing to pull out their credit cards in larger numbers than ever!

There are some highly searched terms on the net that have nothing to do with adult, casino, eBay and Amazon. These terms also have fewer websites even trying to get any part of each $.

Also you were asking why people don?t post there stats (for the most part... I would post stats but really what would they mean to you. I work with some people that convert at less then 1:10 and other that send the wrong traffic to the wrong sites. (gay traffic to MILF site etc...) So you can see how posting the over all General Stats would mean as much as me just pulling a number out of my ass.

Personally I use as a rule 1:500, If something does not convert better then 1:500 then there is a problem... with the (to name just a few) the site, marketing, traffic, link location, targeted traffic, images being used, etc... You also need to keep in mind that tgp, LL, MGP, exits, PPC, SEO, etc.... traffic all have a different rate of conversion. If I was to see 1:800 ration on a 6th page exit I may not change a thing (other then my expectations of getting a better then 1:500 ratio) But if I saw 1:800 off well targeted PPC traffic, I would see this as a big problem.
So as you can see each website has its own traffic, layout, ... And will have to find what works best for them and the traffic they are getting.

The net is no different to direct response advertising in print or TV media. Depends if it's a sunny day, what bad news is floating around etc - far to many variables to generalise.

Tho... on the net there is probably more of a "leveling" when ya wind in the "net buying continents" where regional variances may not have a major effect on the overall.

The "average" has gotta be in the range 200:1 thru 2000:1, but with variances either side of that.

Very happy to see 500:1 or less, twitching at 1000:1 and "why are we here?" when conversions are over 1000:1.

This industry hasn?t changed much the recurring has always been about the same and the sales are still very high. The only thing that has changed is the number of programs and sites its all divided by. Yes there are many savvy surfers who know how to get it free and just as many new surfers coming on daily who don?t.

As far as mainstream goes people are allot more comfortable purchasing items online now then they were before.

Money is easy to make in any field if you know what you are doing whether it?s adult, online or a brick and mortar biz there is money everywhere you just need to know how to obtain it.
