I unfortunately know Paul Addis personally. I can tell you he is no anarchist hero. Those that are calling him an attention whore are also wrong.
Paul Addis is the prototype of why Burning Man as an event/community/culture is not only a waste of time, energy and money but why it is in fact a destructive force in the lives of some (many) participants.
The inner communities of BM have for years been self serving jackasses who have profited handsomely from the event. once John Law quit all sense of integrity disappeared with him. What evolved afterwards was not a cooperative culture as they would have you believe, but rather in fact, a competetive culture in which the prize is easy cash grants for artists and plenty of sex with beautiful lovers ala Andy Warhol's "reason to be an artist".
That sort of environment does nothing to foster good art or real community but it does create a space for egocentric assholes to self promote to their hearts content.
As for Addis.. well, this little man with a Napolean complex likes getting fucked in the ass with dildos by women. He isn't even man enough to admit he is gay! He is psychotic, has been on the verge of something stupid for years and really needs to have his ass kicked and then be locked up for good.
Paul Addis is the ultimate result of too much participation in Burning Man.
