    What can cause a port to be pushed to its limit on a server ?

    Something on one of my servers is causing a port to be pushed to its limit and my ftp/ssh access is fucked. Anyone know what could cause this ? I'm running a few tm3's, Smartthumbs, wordpress and the rest is for gallery hosting.

      Do you have php running on this box? If so sounds like you got hit by a exploit and they got control of your server

                  If your having trouble logging into your server, its likely due to the following:

                  1.You maxed out the bandwidth on your box and you cannot connect anymore b/c too much pron is being dl'ed

                  2. The load on your box is so inhumanly high that box doesnt want anything else to do and its ignoring you. This is especially true if you wrote some bad code or used a bad script

                  3. Someone hacked your box and turned off your ssh

                  4. You tried to get jiggy and mod ssh?

                  5. You didnt pay your bill and the host shut off your ftp/ssh to prevent easy ninja-moving in the night.
