    For GFY being owned by a Hosting Data Center it sure is slow.

    GFY is easily the slowest site I ever visit. I wouldnt put up with any other site being this slow, and I am not really sure why I put up with GFY being slow.

    That is my 2 cents, I'm done now.

                      Yeah it makes the page hang alot. Thats if the page even responds at all.

                      It seams like it goes through times when it is hitting max connect or something. The web server doesn't respond at all. There's many forums 10x this size that have no problem at all.

                                      They claim its on multiple dedicated servers but I find it hard to believe.

                                      Theres a lot of forums out there, some with even more traffic then GFY which run much faster. I think someones being cheap.

                                      If they spent just %25 of the advertising profits on their hosting, this board would be a lot better, and probably get more income.

                                      Personally I know some days I just get sick of how poorly GFY is running and close it.

                                                  Yeah, it's pretty bad. Even worse you have people posting that'll tweak the server/db for FREE, and shit still doesn't get done.

                                                  You could say having such a poorly managed site makes playboy and jupiter look bad but the last guy that said that got banned, so i wont say that...

                                                          Check out the Something Awful forums. Also running on Vbulletin mind you. The post count over there is fucking mind boggling and it runs smoothly day in, day out.

                                                              I agree, there is no reason such a stripped version of vb should run as slow as it does with such limited traffic.

                                                              GFY needs to loosen the purse strings and spend some money. The sooner they learn this I have no doubt they would make more money.
