Hint Juicy, unplug your other internal harddrives before you format and reinstall. just to make sure nothing happens to them.

I remember once I did a new format/install and got confused by all the drives showing up and wiped one of my backup drives. Since then I only reinstall on one drive, the rest are always disconnected while I do it. Good luck!

Yup, I been there dozens of times. If I do it now I just unplug the drives and put them elsewhere until the new computer and OS is running. Then you can plug 'em back in and windows will see them as new drives, with no damage to them.

for outlook i set it to hold all emails on a different drive for cases like this....

Now after format I still have all my emails

Just redid my MAC today. All I had to do was reinstall my system (twice) after backing everything up (again). Only took 6 hours.

I'd just get a utility cd off of bittorrent and scan that puppy for viruses. Hell, just smack up www.antivirus.com and do an online scan while in safe mode. My buddy was having a similar problem and that fixed his machine the other night.
