if you can manage it, anytime is a good time to quit smoking

I've tried holiday time, new years, other days, I don't think time of year really makes a difference, it's hard no matter when you try! (I still smoke after countless failed attempts )

Any time period filled with parties is bad for quitting smoking.

Asking this question... sounds like you're not ready to quit

i would set a hard date of mid jan to quit. quiting during the holidays would be absolute hell, at least if you don't always get on with your family.

plus, well, easier to quit when the drinks aren't flowing every which way.
