Anyone know how to keep cats away from the tree? It's my first year with two male cats, and I cant get them to leave it alone. I've tried spraying them with the squirt bottle a million times, it doesnt help. Any ideas?

Yea, thats not an easy task.
Cats are naturally drawn to new things in their surroundings.
Were not putting a christmas tree up this year.
But the previous years we have, and we always put a shitload of tiny gold bells on the tree. That way we at least knew when the little shit was climbing in the tree.Comment

TreasureBucks,
LoL the bells sound like a good idea, I might have to try it. I found something online called bitter apple. Supposedly you spray it on the tree (doesnt hurt the tree/ornamemts) they hate the smell of it. I might have to give it a shot.Comment

Try to put the tree a bit higher from the floor, they will either give up or just start jumping higher lolRosalia M.

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.Comment

this thread is hilarious
in all seriousness, check out Petco or a PetSmart store, look for this thing called "Bitter Apple Spray" (about $7) that will help if they are BITTING the tree or ornaments.
i gotta pick some of that up today. my cat keeps biting off the covers to the lights and playing soccer with them on the kitchen floor, then i step on them in the mornings and peel the sharp plastic out of my socks

My cat bit a light bulb back in the day of the xmas tree, electrocuted herself, shorted out the house, when we got the lights back on, she came from under the tree and all her hair was on end...and she was still smoking....lolblewit.com - Performance & Pleasure Training For Men.Comment

Decorate the lower end of your tree with hot wire.
Not only does it provide the cat owner with endless hours of humor it also causes great joy to watching those that like to try and peek at their presents.Comment

Every morning I wake up Christmas balls are all over the floor. It makes me smile. It's so cute. They enjoy the tree too. It's a Christmas tree you put it up for the Holidays and by the time Christmas is over the tree isn't suppose to look like you just put it up. It's supposed to look like you had a kick ass day and enjoyed it. I am always hanging my decorations back on the tree. I love my babies so much! I hang the more expensive sentimental decoration higher on the tree. But I can hear them at night running around the house chasing each other and slamming into the tree. It?s so cute! *MEOW*~ loryn@loryntaylor . com ~

I went to petsmart today. A few of the workers told me not to waste my money on any of the sprays because its not gonna keep them away from the tree, so im just gonna have to deal with them messing with it. Spraying them with the water bottle doesnt help, they just keep going back. Oh well i tried
Thanks guys, Happy Holidays
