SEO Gurus: About IP Addresses...

This is a bit difficult to explain, so please bare with me.

If I have 10 websites, 2 on each IP address and I link them together in this manner: 2 sites on IP#1 link to 2 sites on IP#2 and so on, does it matter whether the IP addresses are on seperate C classes? If not, would it still not matter if I did this with more sites (say 50-60) or is there a sort of unspoken maximum before SE's get suspicious?

Of course, I wouldn't do it in this exact manner - it'd be much more intricate than IP1 linking to IP2, which links to IP3 and so on...

Will I be okay as long as I have seperate (same C class) IPs linking to each other or do they need to be on seperate C classes, as well as seperate IPs? Also, what is the maximum number of sites you would stick on one IP?

Thanks in advance.
