                                                                                                                        1 - What gets hosting companies fined $5000? In 7+ years of hosting I never heard that one. Maybe it's an American thing and not Canadian (if SI is based in usa?). I know the datacentre or carriers will easily threaten to block you, kick you out, null IPs, etc...but never heard fo an actual fine.

                                                                                                                        2 - Bdjuf, if you bought the servers for $400 each, since they aren't returning your money why not ask them to ship you all those servers? You can easily co-locate them elsewhere yourself. It's not the 8K back but maybe you'd have a better shot at getting those in the meantime.
