Need advice on a photo printer.

I am in the market for a photo printer to use with my new Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W7 camera.

I don't know if I should go with one of those docking stations that just print photos, or go for an inkjet printer that also prints photos. I know that I don't need to be able to edit or alter any photos on the unit its self. I can and want to do that with Photoshop.

This one looks like a good one: EPSON Stylus Photo R340 Inkjet Printer

I have the Epson C86 and love it to bits. I've sent out full 8x10s from it and people couldn't tell it was from a printer. Lovely stuff.

The Epsons are excellent (had an r200, now using an r320), but are ink hogs...
the prints are amazing, plus they do cd/dvd printables.
if ya get an epson, stock up on OEM ink.. cause a full set of Epson ink costs almost as much as the printer.

Check the Canon Ink Jets, I have had my s900 a couple years

Whichever make you do decide on make sure it has 6 ink tanks.
That way when one color runs out you do not have to trash the whole cartridge but just the color cartridge that's out

and if you don't need on-printer editing, the r340 is overkill..

I had a monster epson once, did poster size photos. Usually ran out of ink before it was finished. Go Canon.

            Woot! 100 Post!!
