So what torrent site do you own? I would love to see an example of how you think it shoud be done. I'm not on a high horse. I'm against content theft and that's supposed to make me a bad guy? It's amazing how some people think. You also think it takes any serious amount of time to report fuckheads? I do my work and when I come across something shady I deal with it. and that is all that would be needed from torrent sites out there now

change their model....use a db to track whos content belong to who..and make sure you are sending sales to the correct sponsor.

Funny, I just mentioned this same sentiment over in the maddawgz thread.

Business as usual is what is causing the industry to deteriorate. In case no one has noticed, things aren't so rosy these days for the independent webmaster or small producer. Few people are doing anything new these days, or for that matter even trying to be creative. They are simply wearing the same, worn out pair of old underwear that is the paysite instead of trying to find ways to make it more attractive to surfers. And then, of course, bitching that they have no/few/less than optimal number of subscribers.

And with statements like "the average surfer is smarter now than before" speaks volumes. If you look at your customers as idiots to be manipulated, you'll eventually be proven correct: they'll be too fucking stupid to buy your product. The surfer hasn't gotten smarter. They are people and the average intelligence of humans is about the same it has been for the last couple of decades. Surfers want something new and they are not getting it from the industry. So they are creating it themselves and they aren't letting anything get in the way of their doing it.

If anything has changed, its the internet itself. We're not all on AOL anymore. Change with it or go out of business. Time stops for no one.

Are you saying there is nothing wrong with me taking your entire members area and then opening my own paysite and charging a monthly membership to the site after cropping out your watermarks? The problem is very simple. People have got used to selling a months membership to people looking for 20 minutes of fun. It's a simplistic answer but it's basically the problem.

Look at all the moans and you will find someone stating that giving away too much equals anything over ten to fifteen minutes of hardcore porn. The complaint is this stops the seller from selling 30 membership.

I've looked at some Torrent sites and see them selling download tools, so not "free" porn, just cheap porn. Megarotic is a shit site, if free, it downloads slow, it's a real mish mash of crap and a few gems. Torrent sites also have problems, with crap, not knowing what you're getting and poor service.

The replies from the moaners also reveal a lot of ignorance about the porn consumer. "Why by a membership when I can download the whole of "Bang Bus" for free? If your average member burned more than $5 of BW/hosting a month the whole industry would have to change and Tube and theft sites would not exist. The BW bill would kill them.

Fifteen year ago any fool could make money on the Internet if he had a bit of knowledge. Ten years ago it was still easy, five years ago it started to change and got tougher. Todays industry still acts like it was 1997 and now they dream of turning the clock back.

When you sell an over priced, low quality product that suits you for too long the customer eventually wakes up and says no thank you. Did anyone stop and say to themselves "This site is a con ripping off the customer" or "This is simply not worth what they're charging" NO the did not. They just asked for more money for the same work, more tools, more free content and screw the customer.

Now the customer is responding.

Tube sites are the least of the Whiners problems.

Every time you shut one down, another will pop up and eventually, they'll pop in places where you cant get them shut down without anything short of a UN Declaration of War. Much better off trying to make use of them and what they can offer you rather than fighting the utterly futile (but headline making) fight against them.

Either you are clueless about torrents or are just egging everyone on so that your torrent site won't get targetted.

Here's the deal: If an entire site rip is on a site, putting up a 30 second clip for download next to it is pointless. That is step 1.

Step 2 is that there is no way for an affiliate to turn it into money, the sponsor content will have the sponsor direct URL on the content, not your affiliate code, and people aren't going to type your nats link into the address bar. You are also forbidden by most programs to add your URL over theirs on their content.

It's actually funny. The only people who show up complaining about people raising the isseu of torrents and tube sites are the people who have nothing in the game, or are running those types of sites.

Pheonix is all over it. But he is promoting an Escort site. it isn't like people are going to steal escort ads and run them as a torrent to download, and it isn't like those people are paying for a bunch of content and such. No, they have no skin in the game, so any reduction in tube and torrent traffic would reduce thier bottom lines.
