    What would you do in this situation ( pics )

    Hurricane Dean sent a nice swell over to Florida's gulf coast on Wednesday so I headed over there to do a little surfing and take some pictures.

    This guy had finished riding a wave in and turned around just in time to see this big thing flying straight at him. The Dolphin turned in time to avoid hitting the surfer but it was real close. I'm sure it made the surfers heart skip a beat.

    What would you have done in that situation?

                  Dolphins are really kool. They actually love to surf near the shore, and it is fun to watch.

                  The best thing for surfers to see a dolphin in the water near by, means that there are no sharks.

                          The second and third pics ruin it because they show true perspective, that there is a reasonable distance between them... much more scary just seeing the first one

                                              theres no need to do anything Flipper there isnt going to run into you, nor will it attack you and if you think dolphins ward off sharks you are sorely mistaken

                                                          The Dolphin jumped a few times in the wave before I got my camera ready to shoot. Nothing unusual about that as Dolphins play in the waves all the time. What was unusual was the Dolphins path took it very close and straight at the surfer. I'd say it came within 30 feet and at a high rate of speed.

                                                          I'm sure it freaked the guy out for a second until he figured out what was going on. We all know the Dolphin means no harm and is just having fun.

                                                          I don't think Dolphins scare Sharks off and that's just a myth. I also don't think ANY shark can catch a healthy Dolphin or Porpoise. They are just to smart and fast
