Were you in the adult biz before or after GFY?

Were you:

A. Already in the adult business and someone told you about GFY (or you found it on your own)
B. Thinking about getting into adult and found GFY when looking for resources
C. Started adult after you found GFY
D. Still haven't started in the adult biz but working on it.
E. None of the above...you're homeless and hopeless.

I was in the adult biz well before I found GFY shooting content, running a couple magazines, and also had a couple sites. I was out of the adult biz for about 2 years when someone pointed GFY out to me. They were trying to start their own affiliate program and needed a web developer. Now that I found GFY, I am seriously considering getting back into the adult biz because the main reason I failed before is because I didn't have the knowledge and contacts like I do now. We had a SHITLOAD of content and magazine but no distributer so we lost like $30k on the deal.

I don't think some people realize the power of GFY. Put aside the funny joke posts and fake drama, this place is a plethora of resources and contacts galore!

A. I didn't sign up at GFY until 2003. In fact, I was barely aware of an adult webmaster community before 2000. I thought it was pretty much just people here and there on their own.

A - I had an entire retail line of DVD's available that I owned (and still own) the distribution rights to. Was selling those for a year or two before I registered at GFY; I have also had three paysites, though I shut all that down after 2257 was passed (have the documents, don't like the inspections requirements though).

I found adultwebmasterinfo when UCJ was still a free script. I was comming from another line of internet marketing and needed a script to track hits.

No need to say that the ucj 1.1 crashed my server when I installed it ... literally 30 mins after I put it up on my site (wich had over 100 000 visitors a day...)

I started in 1997 and had no idea about message boards or anything. at that point I thought it was just normal people like me doing their own thing and no one chatted with each other in any way. It wasn't till I heard of Dokk and his radio shows that I found out about boards, but even at that point I didn't bother going to any. Figured that it would be a waste of my time. The things I could have learned if I would have actually went to a board back then.

I have been researching and learning as much as possible about the "content" business since about '96
and it kept leading to adult. I harley consider myself a "webmaster" but learning I cant do everything myself or Ill go crazy. Having GFY is a nice way to meet people if you look past all the bs and harsh critisism.

Did you have anything to do with Technosex? We prob know some of the same people and might have met at some point tampa is a small town.
