Well, it allowed them to start hiring women for one thing as labor laws prohibited letting them carry the big bags of potatoes, so they could not work there.
As far as the quality is concerned, I think it really went down.
When I worked there, there was a Jack-in-the-Box next door. People might go there for a burger and shake, but most walked over to McD's for their fries.
They were the best anywhere.
