Just can't even edit garbage - too painful to watch and give up on it.
There are a few good shooters around and some decent content, but generally stuff shot for the net is shit that would be unfit to release in a "real" video.
There was a trend (not sure if it exists now - it's even more cheapskate than ever) where models were tarted up with jewellery (pearl necklaces et al) to add "class" - all that did was add "tacky" *lol* And, shooters - can you remove all the "instant decor" plants from the set when shooting stills? ;-)
Let's be honest - there is little hope in hell of making anything "professional", but plenty opportunity to have an "amateur" appeal. I've never seen a shooter yet who can produce genuine-looking amateur content. Sure, it's not easy to do stuff you were trained or told not to do and producing content with a ragged-edge look. One print media editor who published one particular "amateur" monthly mag insisted content be shot with a $10 camera and no or little lighting setup. That was one of the more successful amateur aura mags ever, and with high circulation.
Cameraman talking?? Shit, have you listened to the dialog?? *lol* That would charm the scales off a dead fish - not. It's obvious a number of them are total wankers with nada personality and should be site members instead of trying to shoot actual content.
Models? Hell.. they come in all shapes and sizes, with and without a brain. If there is a speech impediment - restrict her to "ooh!" and "aaahhh" - don't let her talk! The most georgous model we ever used was genuine cover page material - and she did a number of covers. There was nothing this girl could do wrong - she was perfect in every shot. Later she became a Bond girl - BUT, no way in hell could she talk. The moment she opened her mouth the illusion of total sophistication fell thru the floor. She was not dumb, but the voice was a killer.
Bottom line - what ya expect in content when it's generally produced for next to nothing by a clueless guy waving a camera around? The end result would have no hope in hell in a market other than the net. BUT - there are a number of good shooters around who do produce some excellent content - they know who they are - and have made a business in production.
