Glad to see my post invoked some reaction. I am saying I am afraid of strangers, yes - "stranger danger" and all that, but moreso I was trying to say that society today is moving away from social interaction with strangers, and what's wrong with that?

Sure, it now means that if somebody is being mugged in the street nobody will step in and do anything about it, but that's what happens when society starts to drift away from the all-loving and all-caring fifties version where people went to chuch and shopped at the local green grocers because it was the "done thing", and start to now do what they actually want to do, without having to conform to the unwritten rules of society and without needing to stay within the social constraints of their class.
