and boneprone.com has basically the same repeated link text format on every page and every page of his gave jupiter a backlink.

yeh that's possible for sure....

Maybe the spider is reading like we do, top to bottom, left to right, just gets bored with all the 'hit it' surfer threads, and leaves before it reaches the bottom of the page...

PS: I didn't notice any backlinks at a glance from google but I'm Clearly seeing them on gfy threads at msn and yahoo backlink searches...

i was looking thru a bunch of gfy stuff from last year ( looking at links in various places on gfy pages ) and it doesnt look like gfy gives out any backlinks ( except on google images )

That "could" explain why jupiter doesnt get backlinks , but there still is one clean link to them there.. and it also doesnt explain why i see no other backlinks to any other sites posted on gfy.. hmm

It may also have to do with the amount of data on the page.
GFY loads up 214k for "Fucking around ". But if I'm not mistaken, google bot only spiders the first 100k of a page.

Looks like it has something to do with GFY being penalised.
If you search in google for "go fuck yourself" you dont see it on the first page (i didnt bother to dig deeper)

I think its a duplicate content filter (www.gofuckyourself.com | www.gfy.com | www.gfyboard.com | http://www.gofuckyourself.net)

Another good point that I meant to bring up. Combine that with the fact that Google isn't very good about showing all backlinks.

It counts all the links to Jupiterhosting on gfy.http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...hosting.com%22
but that doesn't mean that all these site wide links give it any benefit as far as their algo goes.Google are quite good at discounting superfluos links, whether they be bought links or links placed indiscriminately.Remember Google only want to count links that seem to be given as a recommendation.They go out of their way to look for signs og bought links or Gratuituos ones as in this case.

im confused, the link you posted shows the occurances of www.jupiterhosting.com but not links...

if you click " show more choices" it only shows 4 listings for gfyboard.

So basically for cliff notes.... the reason is because of the repeated text link in the same format ? google ignores those as backlinks.?. seems right i guess but i would think they would get at least ONE backlink..

It shows you that google is crawling the pages fine and notes the links.
Google may count all these links, just because they show none as backlinks means very little ,but I doubt that these links have any weight in their algo.Basically because the links aren't a indication of a recommendation or a sign of quality but are clearly gratuitous links because of the relationship between gfy and jupiters.
