Here is why Damon is such a tremendous fit in this situation. One he can still play defense like a mofo. Secondly in the Red Sox lineup no one wanted to pitch around him but they didn't want to put him on base either. Same situation in NY. Third he already knows how to deal with pressure. Going to NY will be like going on vacation in comparison to trying to break an 86 year curse.

The funniest thing is going to be seeing him at the press conference later this week or early next week clean shaven and his hair cut high and tight!

I'm liking it, although I'm not sure if he'll be w/ the team in 3 or 4 years...unless they move Damon to right field.

Johnny Damon and the Yankees reached a preliminary agreement on a four-year, $52 million contract, a baseball official told The Associated Press on Tuesday night on the condition of anonymity. Details were still being negotiated and Damon must pass a physical..yada yada

A clean shaven short haired Damon taking over Williams will not be easy. I am lost at this...

Yanks are starting to look real good. Now they need 1 more pitcher in the pen, make a trade w/ Proctor, Wright, and/or Small and maybe grab a decent 1B/DH and they're all set.

Hopefully they'll grab someone else who can play DH/OF or 1B/DH (other than Phillips).

It'd be nice to have an OF/DH to give Sheffield days off in the outfield.
