I don't seem to recall stating that I hate anyone. I do seem to recall classifying that "the extreemists" were my concern. Your race or current religion, are not qualifiers for me on any level.

What does cause me to think, is your past religion. Not that all Muslims are terrorists, but that nearly ALL terrorists are Muslims. Because of that mere fact, it would be foolish for any level headed human to take at face value what others in that religion profess. Especially, since it is an extreme minority of that faith who speak out against those who commit terror acts in the NAME of Islam.

Well, your reasoning and numbers seem to be very one sides especially when you're sizing up America against the Islamic world. Have you run the numbers for people dead in America's wars and not just the wars the had a presence in but the ones where their roles were primarily behind the scenes?

I am in no way condoning terrorism, and as an Arab, if fact in huge part because I am an Arab, I find it distasteful and hugely offensive that my people would visit these kind of atrocities upon the world, whether in their own lands or outside of it.

Having said that, let's take a look at a few reasons why the Muslim world would come about to hate the West; what ignites and fans the flames of this anger?

Arabs and Muslims have long wanted to create an "Islamic Civilization" ... something born of its own right. The Western, and in particular, American, subjugation of that abmition by dividing the Arab world by way support of dictators is one reason for the animosity.

America has a solid history of dividing and fragmenting the Arab/Islamic world simply by virtue of the rulers it supports.

The US has perverted attempts to democratize and the Muslims see them as hypocrits and nothing more than playground bullies. Preaching freedom and democracy while preventing Arabs from enjoying these same freedoms while exploiting their wealth is not the best way to make friends and influence people.

Last but not least, we have Palestine. The agonizing thorn is the side of the Islamic world.

These are the dark and gloomy reasons but by no means the only reasons for the Arab/Islamic world hates America. These same reasons are why some European countries hate America.

A lot of the rulers supported by america have introduced Arab people to autocratic, human rights-abusing regimes. Being stripped of freedom to express themselves many Muslims have sought conspiracy theories as an viable alternative to explain the problems of the universe.

They look to men like Bin Laden to deliver them from what they see as their opression by the all mighty, all controlling, American powerhouse that's behind the scenes.

The likes of Bin Ladin focus their attention on the poor and unschooled, the people they know are suffering. The paint glossy pictures and make Islam the kind of revoluntionary antidote these people seek. The kind of Islam that will solve all their problems. It won't surprise you to know that this very same message was first preached by Ayatollah Khomeini. Two people, both formerly in bed with the US, now both having the wrath of the US upon them ... does anyone else see a trend here?

Let sleeping dogs lie is one of those quality sayings and one that holds much truth. The Muslims that are instigating acts of terror against the US are the very same Muslims that the US was once very comfortable to get into bed with. As Americans, as people who enjoy more freedom than those less fortunate in the Middle East, do you not realize that as a people, as a region, as a religion, they just want to be left to their own devices?
