by all means, but most bank on the SEO Friendly urls if the blog is properly setup. Giving wordpress takes 20 secs. to setup if you have hosting, etc..

I see your point though, trust me... i get 100 ghey blogs submitted to SubmitBlogs.com daily

Why not? It would as well. Especially if it can handle a big archive of "posts". More content on your site -> more SE traffic.

blogs are just like free sites, galleries etc... they have an accepted format and the infrastructure for trading links and getting traffic is already in place. you're pretty much on your own with one page wonders.

Some people are going to setup a million blogs with hundreds of rss feeds and try to sit back and collect checks.

Sure, that will work a bit, just as setting up dozens of tgps with fhgs and trades works for some.

But, as an example, who makes more... The Hun or some of the other mass manufactured or non personal tgps?

The answer is clear. By all means use RSS feeds as an addition to your personal posts.

A blog that actually draws in users and gives them posts that they enjoy will always be more effective and get more traffic than one that is mass produced.

Blogging really is about the user. If you create something that is useful they will use the social features to spread the word about you and create a loyal following for you. That's something that cannot be beat.

If you value the SE traffic you need some good quality blogs mixed with feedsplogs... just my 2 cents (but I'm not telling you anything you don't already know)

It depends...

For SE traffic - YES*.
For bookmarkers - NO.

*You just have to modify those sponsor feeds you are pulling to make them unique. Otherwise you can't expect for a huge traffic from search engines
