I have to agree - a rep with no experience and no understanding, won't be able to distinguish opportunities for the company, won't be able to piece different strategies together in order to morph them into different streams of traffic.
Some companies prefer to get fresh people from the mainstream world - that's good but they need to understand the 'adult market' and 'porn surfer' market today - and that's like trying to have a conversation in mandarin when you're from some hicktown.
The reps who have dabbled in many facets of the 'webmaster' side are the ones that can relate to the affiliates and they are also have a higher respect for affiliates because they are one themselves & although they may be 'sales' they also understand their marketing cuz they wore many hats as a webmaster.
