XBOX360 vs PS2

Ok - I know I have to buy a 360 - will in the new year when they get some in the stores.

My question for the lucky bastards that got one already - is just how much better is the 360 than a PS2 - is there anything inparticular that stands out?

Like graphic speed, clarity, smoothness, response, sound etc.

Fav PS2 game at the mo is Medal of Honour - European Assault, how do similar games compare to that on a 360?

If the 360 is far far better than a PS2 - Im never gonna get any work done again.

I got a 360 yesterday and hooked it up to my 42" plasma (high def mode) and surround sound set up.
Visuals are stunning and sound is fantastic.
My old Xbox got little use but i see the 360 getting LOTS of use.

Got both the gamecube and the ps2 - I can hardly tell any difference to be honest.

What I want to hear is

"I would kill for a 360 over a PS2"
"Id pay ten times for a 360"

Or maybe its only

"The 360 is slightly better gameplay than the ps2".

Possibly most of it is in the eye of the beholder - a bit like whats a babe and whats a dog.

of course it is better then the ps2 as far as graphics etc. Yngwie: As said before your a big time Nintendo fan it sounds like but for most games Nintendo is not that well liked because the way it markets its games and the games they release. Is it more powerful then a PS2? I have no clue because I returned my gamecube the next day after I bought it. Only wanted to try out Mario kart on it and it wasn't as fun as the N64 version imo.

I agree, Nintendo fucked up when it comes to games and stuff, but I'm sure with the Nintendo Revolution will not end up the same. Right now I'm playing Resident Evil 4 on the game cube and it rocks. In a couple weeks I will have killer 7 and Call of Duty 2.

Lets hope that Nintendo smartens up with their new console.. The controller alone on the Nintendo Revolution will kick ass.

Get the Atari2600.. I'd kill for an Atari2600 over an Xbox360... I'd pay ten times the amount for an Atari2600.

ps2 and 360 are no comparison other than the amount of games
but if you meant the ps3
spec for spec the ps3 will be capable of more
but it will be more expensive
but with the overwhelming amount of titles that the ps3 will come out with
im saving me money for the ps3

The simple fact is if you want a next gen console, xbox 360 is out now and PS3 doesn't have a release date yet so you can't compare the 2 yet.

HAHAHAHA The X-Box shitted all over the PS2 as far as technology and graphics...but lacked game titles. Right now the 360 is leaps and bounds ahead of the PS2 but sadly...the games aren't that great. Unless you're a sports gaming mania like me...then you're all set till Halo 3

I must be hard to amuse or something, but come on, it's just a video game...
walking around in a virtual world, and shooting objects on the screen, or driving a car with the controller, is really not THAT fun...
I guess it's alright to play it once in a while, but obsessing whether ps3 will be better than xbox 360 seems a little lame to me...

in terms of gameplay it really isnt any better, actually worse on most games (madden 06)

graphics are way better though...I wouldnt make the jump until more good games come out, right now there are 3 worth playing
