Experimenting on price. (Business Thread)

I'm trying to find out more about what surfers want and willing to pay for when the buy porn. So last night I sent out a spam to all our ex members and surfers email list telling them about the new girls and the new prices on the paysite. Paul Markham Teens. This is the tour for our traffic and not affiliates traffic.

$2.95 for a 3 Day trial, recurring at $29.95 for 30 days.
$5.00 for a 3 Day membership. non recurring.
$15.00 for a 30 Day recurring at $35.95 for 30 days.
$35.95 for 30 a Day membership non recurring.

Also normal prices via CCBILL.

So far the results are very interesting when compared with the spam we send out with the normal prices. I will keep you informed.

btw, I recommend taking that pricing code off, your losing money with that pricing option on your paysite. There are more profitable more appealing prices to use for your ex members than this no recurring option

5 years ago we largely had the monopoly on porn via the Net, unless the surfer wanted to make do with 15 second clips. And the Net converted a lot better than it does today.

Today we do not have any strangle hold and the options for surfers are many. We went from 1-50 to 1-100 to 1-500 to 1-2000, and still many say the solution is more traffic.

I will be trying different price options over the next few weeks to see what the surfer wants and what is the most profitable. Some of the prices will not make sense to us, let's see if the surfer understands.

Fuck that man, you're thinking like a surfer and not like a business owner.

Trials are so people can check out the members area and see if they like it before they commit to a full month and $30 or more.
If you offer them a trial AFTER they've been in the members area, then the ones who take it will certainly cancel before the trial period is up.

If you're happy making $5 when you could make $20, then more power to you.

What the customer wants is as much porn as possible for as little money as possible....they prefer free.
Of course the cheapest option is the most popular, they give you $5 and then cancel right away, download what they want and then forget about you.

Your job as a paysite owner is to find the price point that maximizes your revenue.
Charge too much and nobody will sign up or stay, charge too little and you won't make enough to cover your overhead AND you'll send the message to the customer that your product is "cheap"
Find the middle ground that makes the most money overall.

You obviously have alot to learn about running a paysite, that's fine, everyone has to learn.
If I were you I wouldn't do that learning in public, or else you'll never get affiliates to send you traffic.
Nobody wants to send traffic to someone who appears to not know what they're doing.

That's your free advice for today, I'll await your I-know-everything-about-everything rebuttal.

You should be mailing your former customers other peoples sites, and not your own. Well you can add your own in the mailer but stress several other sites in related niches. That is the proper way to use your past members email list. Not trying to sell them another trial to your site, odds are they already know about your site and if not you can kindly remind them and offer them a we miss you special price. One that costs more than a fucking trial though.

I watched what they were doing. Truth is very few members want to download everything. If they did this would be a very different industry.
