*shrug* it's a myth that's been going on forever. Usually, it's espoused by people talking about the old Autoblogger Pro, and not the Stand Alone, which manages all of your auto-posted blogs from a single interface.
Not to mention that installing all of those plugins would take so much time for every blog, and is probably only done by the smallest of the small webmasters, making $20/month or less.
You aren't going to be able to give people a clue, unfortunately, so it's best to just laugh when they say things like that.
