          Id say that the config of this one would go round 800$ to 1200$. Not a bad machine at all. And as they said on the site, if ya change the board which will cost you another 300-400$ you can make a monster pc.

                          Considering that a Maya license starts at 3K? if it is not a educational one... As for 3D work, I prefer dual xeon workstations. You should also make sure, that the 3D software package you want to use is supported by the hardware.
