Actually I begn my epass nightmare last week after sensibly staying as far from these people as possible.
I loaded money to the account had money sent to the account and did not spend. My first purchase not only did these people deny the purchase saying the credit card number was invalid but also placed the amount on hold....omg. Well then they tell me if I get the fax umber and a signed letter from the supervisor of the organization that attempted this charge and the authorization number they can release the funds, otherwise of course they will hold them for 31 days to be sure the merchant did not try and honor the charge. But no worries I would get my funds back...someday.
Ok so I figure they are pretty worthless and I go to get my money out...hmmm. WAIT. I paid for a card but I am told I can not get my money out until I confirm a second method to put money into a place I have no intention of ever again having anything to do with.
Ok....hmmm so I insert my bank info and then get a message saying oh....now check your bank statement in about 7 days and tell us how much we put in there and THEN we will let you have some of your funds...oops?
Well not to be deterred by these uhhh business people I go to paypal insert my info in and try and withdraw my money that way eager to be rid of these people for good and all since all they seem to do is to "hold" your money. Oops hey do not do business with paypal.
Well....nice. So I am stuck with epass funds I can't use as they were intended to be used.
I then spent an hour on the phone with a Customer Service Rep who said ....well some places won't accept our visa.
Me: Which places?
Him: Well we don't have an exact list.
Me: So where do you people plan to allow me to spend my funds?
Him: Anyplace that accepts epass.
Me: Umm but the last place I tried, YOU told the merchant my card was not valid and put the funds on hold. Will this also happen every time I go to a merchant who does not accept epass?
Him: Well, I don't know.
Me: How do you suggest I spend my funds, with whom am I allowed to spend them since there are apparently a number of places that don't honor your visa card (which the sign up page clearly states it is visa and can be used anywhere)
Him: I dunno.
