What would happen if whites started WET like Blacks did BET?

Ya you're right. The language thing is what puts it in the grey area. At the same time though...I think BET is being broadcasted in ebonics....does that count?

Hispanics outnumber blacks in the U.S. and is growing at very fast clip ... the clout, abeit limited, of blacks in the political realm is rapidly dropping ... politicians these days, by and large, in regards to race/ethnic groups, are focusing much more on hispanics than blacks.

To digress a bit ... it's no accident that border enforcement is a joke much like how speed enforcement is - sure they catch a few offenders, but the system is setup to ignore most violations / maintain status quo - hispanics, as a group, are an important part of the economy - they tend to be family oriented, and very hard working.

Personally, BET has always bothered me ... if there's going to be a BET, I agree there should be a WET or whatever ...

But what bothers me much more is Black History month (February) ... why is there no White History month? -anyways, it seems to me August should be designated White History month ... and Indians should have a designated month too, and Hispanics, etc too.

Ya and since there is a Presidents day I guess there should now be a Congressman day, and a Selectman day, and Mayor's day. Oh ya and lets give Pat Buchannan a day now too since Martin Luther King Jr. has one.

It's not so simple as some would have it. It's an issue of empowerment. To have the dominant class asserting that it needs special treatment is just in poor taste. The argument, whether you agree with it or not, is that minorities need a greater presence, more representation than they're currently getting, on the public airwaves. Presumably our (white) interests are already well-represented in the mainstream media. It's an issue of equality.
