Things are changing, both at Lightspeed and within the industry itself. Change is inevitable, and how one deals with it reveals his true character.
There is not much I can say to give Richard the sendoff that he deserves. While he was not the first Lightspeed employee, he was the first to make it his own through sheer determination, loyalty, and hard work. The Lightspeed story has been told over and over, but I always felt that Richard never got all the recognition that he deserved. To say that he helped build this company is an understatement. I?ve never relied on one person more in my life, and Richard never once let me down.
So now we part ways, as friends, colleagues, and equals. Maybe the employer/employee relationship is over, but that was just a small part of Richard?s meaning to Shannon and me.
Thank you Richard, for a million things, and I know you?ll have all the success you deserve.
