burning man is not more or less free, you might want to read up on that. it *is* a gifting economy between participants once you arrive however.
no, i don't need gas money for the $4000's worth of work i've already put into this trip. i am not working right now as i am focused on this trip, but having cash for the least expensive things that *do* cost money at burning man (ice, namely) - would be nice to have a little extra of so i can pitch in for the people that will inevitably randomly end up at our camp this year.
if hitting up the industry about industry work is desperate, i'm a little confused as to how anyone is ever supposed to look for work pertinent to their experience. thanks for the interesting prediction though, i'll keep my eye out for the creepy ICQ's.
