    Turbo Traffic Trader Question

    Hi everybody,

I am working on creating a TGP, and so I decided to use TTT as the traffic trading script. I am running into problems with installation though. I uploaded all of the files to my site, but when I go to:

    http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/ttt-admin

(substituting my domain name in, of course)

and try to log in under option 2 (create an empty database and set it up manually), I cannot get in. I tried every username/password combination that was issued to me by my hosting provider and it still doesn't work. Any idea as to what I am doing wrong? My hosting provider is High Country Hosting.

Any help is very much appreciated!

    thanks

Chances are you will need to manually create an empty database before you can install it.

it may be a permissions problem. I use high country too and mine worked like a charm the first time.

No it's not a permissions problem.

This guy is clueless.. unless High Country installed the script for you, their username/password information would be useless in TTT. You need to first install the script by selecting the "Create an empty.." option and creating a username password.

The login form shouldn't list any setup options, but simply ask for your username and password:

Thanks guys - Dynamixx is right, I am pretty clueless at the moment, but everybody has to start somewhere, right?

In any case, I tried again to create a new username/pwd, and it doesn't work, so I emailed the TTT guys to see if they can help.

Thanks again for all the replies.

No I didn't mean that you were clueless - I meant the guy who said it was a permissions problem was.

Shoot me an email - [email protected] - I'll see if I can get TTT installed for you.

I ran into several permissions problems when I was setting up with high country hosting, so it could've easily been that. They're set up so that you don't have permissions for alot of files in your own account. For instance, when I installed comus I didn't have permission to modify the contents of many of the folders because they belonged to the root user, not me.

The only permissions problems with High Country I've ever run into is when you first install Comus. Several includes aren't accessible without the proper permissions.

However, I've never run into a permissions issue with TTT and I've installed probably 30 sites on High Country's servers for my clients, each running either TTT C or TTT PHP.

Personally I would never use a traffic trader script like TTT because all it does is send traffic that should be going to a gallery to one of your partners' sites...which really pisses off the surfers, and makes them not want to go back to your site. Not a good idea at all if you're trying to actually make a lot of sales. But if you don't mind pissing off your surfers and losing sales, by all means use it.

You should make your own username and password.make sure ttt files are in cgi-bin and chmod to 755 make sure you create a data folder in the cgi-bin and chmod it to 777
