I'd go with NATS and set a cascade between CCBill, Epoch and MVC. This will allow you to tweak your ratios by processing with the company that is offering the smallest scrub at the time.

ccbill is easy to use / nice affiliate and management tools....sales depend on your content and traffic.

well, thats what you get when ccbill gives you first page raw and other "larger" programs gives you join form hits.. a lot of people can't actually tell the difference between ratios

Great advice, I have a pay site 90% done that was built for ccbill but I put it on hold since my ccbill ratios have gotten so bad, this seems like a very good solution

I am curious, how do you build a site for a specific processor?

Epoch ratios aren't really much better honestly. And you have to have your own software/check cutting.

Who the fuck started the ccbill doen't convert crap. Has nothing to do with ccbill. It has to do with crap marketing and crap traffic. Who does your processing has nothing to do with conversions. As for scrubbing, they may just be cutting down on chargebacks for you. I wish someone had something with substance to say.

This is 100% untrue. I use Epoch, they send out the checks for me, they also have affiliate tracking.

                                    Is this a joke?

Anyway, of course it has to do with CCbill. When their chargeback ratios get high, do you think they continue processing the same hoping things will get better? No, they turn up the scrub-o-meter to put things back in check.

Was built without any software for affiliate managment or hit tracking, its been pretty much complete for 2 months

I am a HUGE supporter of CCBill ... been using them on our pay sites for 4-5 years. Good people to and they throw a killer Phoenix Forum.

I think CCbill ratio's are directly related to which sites and programs you are pushing. It's too easy to say their ratios suck if you push tons of CCbill sites.

The truth is, it's a very small percentage of the CCbill programs and sites that I make most of my sales with. The rest just drive up the ratios. If you figure out what sites convert and dump the rest, then you're ccbill ratios will get much better.

Same goes if you run your own sites under ccbill, figure out what sites and programs convert good and try and model your own sites after their. Keep in mind while nats is a good way to go, it's hard to get new affiliates to join your program if you don't have big bucks to brand the program. So going the ccbill route makes bringing in new affiliates much easier.

ccbill processing is OK, but their free affiliate tracking system - well you get what you pay for in that instance.

I used them for my paysite and did well with my own traffic, however programs that rely upon them for affiliate tracking - this is a different function than merely processing a card - tend to show poor affiliate ratios much of the time. The sponsors keep seeing good ratios (because they get all the untracked sales that affiliates send and don't get credit for) but find other excuses to blame it on, such as claiming the affiliates traffic is poor quality when it isn't or that the affiliates don't understand what a first page raw hit is (which is condescending and usually untrue).

If you've got the budget, you'd probably do well with your own affiliate tracking program like a NATS type system which would keep track of all the data until it actually sends the last step of the payment processing to ccbill or one of the backup processors.

Why sponsors are willing to invest many thousands of dollars in content, design, programming, promotion, traffic etc and then just take the first free affiliate system they can find is beyond me. CCbill is a great program for site owners and they do pay very consistently, but their affiliate software is really just something to help webmasters get started with IMO.
