It is funny and true, but it doesn't really have an validity. There is validity in saying that government institutions shouldn't have any reference to any religion within its walls or outside of them. I mean, only 77% of the United States is Christian, so why should the other 23% of the population have to see Christmas references in PUBLIC areas.
I personally can careless, but when people start saying "Who cares about seeing Christmas decorations" or whatever and proceed to make fun of the people complaining; it just shows that they have a very subjective view. 23% of 300 million people is a lot of people to offend, and I don't think that anyone should have to see something endorsed by the government, when the government says that it will not endorse any one religion. Plain and simple, schools and court houses, and all other public buildings are part of the government; that means that those places shouldn't in all reality have any religious content on the property.
I like to think of the government as a plain stick that is equal to all people; when you start decorating the stick with Christian apparel; the stick is no longer plain. There's no arguing with that.Comment
