    Offer both mpg AND wmv in a member area?

    Im converting the files to mpg anyway so i have both versions but is it really needed nowadays?

                                  much of it i have in 3 different sizes & bit rates but still all wmv

                                  every once an a while I'll get an email from a Mac nut. like once or twice a month. nothing near worth worrying over. I point them to the windows Media Player for Macs section on MS's web site and usually they get it going.

                                      Can't tell the difference between WMV and Mpeg. The Mac point is easily solved.

                                      You might end up with complaints form people who can't download the Mpeg because of their connection. Never assume the surfer knows that much about the workings of his machine.

                                              yes to both.. there was a similar thread recently and someone said they had done a test and more people actually clicked on the mpg than the wmv... Maybe you should do your own test.. that's a novel concept...

                                                  Well you got a point but if theres no mpeg they will simply click wmv and i dont see the problem with that since 99.9% of the people can play it and if they have a problem its usually easy to fix.

                                                              More people click on the mpg files because the mpg is saved in a Temp folder and starts playing automatically, the wmv has to be saved on the HD, then you have to close/minimize your browser, find the wmv file, and double click it in order to play it ..... and doing that while holding your dick is pain in the ass
